This is all about my Guardian Angel.

Why I believe in him and why I then looked for a BELIEF that I could understand. There is a lot more to the world than what I see. But they watch us too.

The Guardian Angel or Spirit Guide. They are here to watch over you.

Not all of us have them.

A guardian angel is an angel assigned to protect and guide a particular person. I believe that a guardian angel is the one that makes the choice. A guardian angel or tutelary can be watching over places and things too. Some might call them Ghosts or latent spirits.

The belief in guardian angels can be traced throughout all antiquity. The concept of tutelary angels and their hierarchy was extensively developed in Christianity in the 5th century by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite.

The theology of angels, and tutelary spirits, has undergone many refinements since the 400's, and belief in both the East and the West is that guardian angels protect whichever person to whom God assigns them, and present prayers to God on that person's behalf. The Catholic Church's calendar of saints includes a memorial for the guardian angels on the 2nd of October.

Most religions and belief systems have recorded their belief in angels in one form or another. These entities were around for as long as man has been. We find images of them on structures around the world in every culture.

In my younger days, I was a motorcycle dispatch rider in Kent and the big smoky city of London. In one year I could do as may miles as most will do in their life times. The result of this means that I had a few accidents along the way (just a few). Yet no matter how bad they should have been I did not even break a bone. For the most part I put this down to luck. I now know different. I am not saying that my guardian angel helped in all cases but I am sure of three that he helped with. Because I saw him.

I have never had a conversation with him. We never really had time to talk. If we did I would say “Thank you”. I am not even sure he would understand my language but I am sure he would understand the intent. My guardian angle is a native American Indian. A true red skin warrior with a spear and a plume of red with feathers in his hair. The first time I saw him I thought he was someone in fancy dress. The second time made me panic. The third, I felt so at peace, nothing mattered. Has he been there for me and I have not seen him?
