The very palce to open your minds
Religion should not punish anyone

What about punishment for those that do wrong? Well if you do wrong then you must be punished. But we are only talking about simple and small wrong doings. Pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth are those list as the seven deadly sins. All others should be dealt with by the law.

Pride is excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise. Pride is also known as Vanity. This surely does not extend to pride in others. I am proud of all my children, as every father should be..

Envy is the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation. I believe that people should be congratulated on their success, as long has no one is hurt along the way. I always say “Good for them”.

Gluttony is an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires. This is not just about food people. No one should have more than they need. That one is for the bankers.

Lust is an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body. This does not mean that you should not have or seek pleasure.

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury. It is also known as Wrath. A hard one to control on the spur of the moment.

Greed is the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual. It is also called Avarice or Covetousness. Once again this is tolerance and not excess. I will always want better for my children, no mater how old they get.

Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. I do not believe that a belief should entail any work. You give want you can and what you feel is right.
